Every woman’s wardrobe has to start with the basics., or closet essentials , or what ever you want to call them, but those must have pieces , that you need as a foundation . Those wardrobe staples are the secret sauce to being able to have a cohesive wardrobe that lay the ground work for endless combinations and possibilities.
When thinking of basics , I think solids . Solids are great as the backbone of an outfit. They are the heavy hitters of your wardrobe. They are going to be the pieces you wear day after day after day.
They are versatile . And they stand the test of time being worn again and again.
They are the pieces that can be matched with all the fun pieces. Mixed with other solids creates some uniformity. Mix it with a pattern and you have added in some visual interest.
Always make sure your basics are comfortable and fit your body well, because you will be wearing them over and over again.
Many times we think of basics as our blacks and whites. But basics can be other colors as well , such as blue.
